Manju Jois, the oldest son of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois,
is recognized world-wide as the foremost authority on
Yoga. Manju began his yoga practice at age 7 with his
father as his guru. He began teaching at the age of
15 and has taught continuously throughout the world
for the last 45 years.
Manju’'s methods are consistent with the ancient
practices, offering truly authentic guidance for all
who wish to follow 's life-enriching path
to Enlightenment.
Manju's teaching style is spiritual, intensive, inspiring
and humorous. He is renowned for assisting students
deeper into poses. He honors the ancient tradition and
teaches his students with clarity and enthusiasm.
Manju will present the series and traditions in their
purest form and will introduce and teach the powerful
healing elements and techniques that make up the system.
This promises to provide a rare and privileged opportunity
to learn from an Indian master.
The five day teacher training intensive will include:
- The traditional Yoga practice, the Primary
Series of Yoga Chikista (Yoga Healing), followed by
the Intermediate Series entitled Nadi Shodhana (Nerve
Cleansing). Daily practice of the asana purifies the
mind and body while also healing the nervous system.
- Hands-on training provides students the opportunity
to learn from Manju how to adjust in every posture
from the Primary Series.
- Manju, using original Sanskrit so that students
will benefit from the traditional form, will teach
the Nadi Shodhana Pranyama, traditional breathing
exercises
- Students will also practice Vedic peace chants.

- Time will be given for question and answer sessions
with Manju.
Each day will conclude with meditation
practice.

By the end of this week, each student should be able
to present the Primary Series of Yoga in the traditional
form (using Sanskrit commands) as well as teach some
of the fundamental pranayamas and chants.

During Manju's Weekend Workshop:
- Manju will introduce the original Sanskrit counting
method, helping students learn the correct breath
sequence of the Primary and/or Intermediate Series.
- Students will learn to combine meditation chants,
pranayamas and asanas to make each practice session
the purest experience of Yoga.
- After practice, the Shanti Mantras, or Vedic Peace
Chants, will spread the benefits of practice beyond
the self. Taking the time to learn and repeat the
Shanti Mantras is very powerful -- having this occasion
to practice them with others is astounding.

Students Should Bring:
A well hydrated and well rested body, refraining
from eating at least 2 hours prior to the workshop.
When eating select foods like fresh fruit, vegetables,
whole grains. Low acidic food choices are optimum. Wear
loose comfortable clothes. Bring your own mat, towel,
and an open mind, body, and spirit.
